Aerial Yoga

  1. Fri 6 pm once per month; Sun 1pm monthly

Aerial Yoga uses the aerial trapeze/yoga swing to assist in traditional yoga poses, create a deeper stretch, and lengthen the spine in inversions. All poses will be taught for all levels, and many poses are easier with the yoga swing because of the reduction of weight bearing.

The deeper stretch and relaxation you will feel is unlike any other class. Only 6 swings are available. Pre-payment and reservation are required. Cancellations are accepted no later than 4 hours prior to class, late cancels will be charged for a class.

Join the waitlist if you can't reserve, a spot often opens up!

I created this class after 15 years in an office and 10 years teaching my coworkers yoga. This class will not only support your workforce to relieve discomfort through unique drills and self massage, but also teach new patterns. I can offer this class at any time upon request.

Why Yoga is So Important for Desk Workers

AdobeStock_327200413.jpeg

Sitting is more dangerous than smoking, kills more people than HIV, and more treacherous than parachuting. We are sitting ourselves to death," says James Levine, professor of medicine at the Mayo Clinic, in an interview with the LA Times. "The chair is out to kill us."

You may have heard the saying, “sitting is the new smoking,” which is credited to Dr. Levine.

He’s not the only one who believes that we're sitting ourselves to death. There’s a growing body that supports his claim and the benefits of standing desks.

Studies show that Yoga improves mood and attitude among employees, and even increases composure, elation, energy, and confidence. Yoga has been reported to increase feelings of greater self-confidence in stressful times.

Happy healthy employees tend to stay at their jobs longer. Retention saves employers money!

I look forward to every yoga class that Shaunna teaches. Her combined expertise of physical therapy and yoga training delivers an extra layer of insight that always amazes me and has me feeling great at the end of each class. She is an upbeat instructor who is passionate about seeing students succeed.
